Claire M. Quiet, born on July 2, 1927, in Leominster, MA, was a woman of lively spirit, undying enthusiasm, and boundless love for her family and friends. Her life was a testament of love, resilience, and joy, and she touched the hearts of all who knew her. Claire was a beloved member of St. Cecilia's Church and served as a crossing guard when her children were in school, ensuring their safe passage. She was Captain of Counsil St. Cecile Girls Drill Team of L'Union St. Jean Baptiste d'amerique. Her zest for life was radiant, whether she was playing cards with friends, solving puzzles, or enjoying family cookouts. Wells Beach, Maine, was one of her favorite retreats. Claire was an adventurous soul, always ready to explore new experiences, be it attending concerts, visiting the theater, or making trips to Foxwoods.
Claire Quiet was the cherished mother of Denise Gallant and her husband Steven, Alan Quiet, Cheryl Gallant and her husband Richard, David Quiet and his wife Carol, Sandra Nowokunski and Brian, Mary Comeau and her husband John, and Joan Richard, Karen Hess and her husband Harry. She was also the dear sister of Betty Schwider. Claire was predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years, Clarence Quiet Jr. They were married on Valentine's Day of 1953, her parents, Adelard and Anna Lamoureux, and her sister, Pearl Vaillancourt. Claire's memory will be kept alive in the hearts of her loved ones and all who knew her. A calling hour will be held in the Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker Street, Leominster, MA on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. A funeral mass will follow at Saint Cecilia Parish, 180 Mechanic Street, Leominster, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St Cecilia's Cemetery, 99 Saint Cecilia Street, Leominster, at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Claire's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, at stjude.org.
