Charlene M. Drury

Gardner-formerly of Orange, Charlene M. (Gifford) Drury, 73, died Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Heywood Hospital after a brief illness. 

 

She was born in Gardner on November 10, 1948, a daughter of the late Stanley B. Gifford and Ruth D (Schafron) Hamel.

 

She attended Narragansett High School. Charlene worked at L.S. Starrett Company before becoming disabled. She also worked for Community Health Service and the former Eastern Furniture Company in Athol. She was a member of the South Athol United Methodist Church, where she was active in church affairs. She enjoyed horseback riding and reading.

 

Charlene leaves her brother, Kim Gifford and Connie Cornell of Templeton; her sister, Karen Gifford O’Grady of Cary, NC; two nephews, Andrew Gifford and Patrick O’Grady and one niece, Kasie O’Grady Padhye.

 

She was predeceased by her husband Allen Drury, who passed in 2018.

 

Charlene's funeral services will be private and held at a later date.
