Athol-Caroline M. (Sweeney) Marquis, 88, died Friday, May 5, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Marquis.
She was predeceased by three brothers; Melvin Sweeney, Jr., David Sweeney, and Thomas Sweeney.
Caroline leaves three sisters, Beverly Duplessie of Orange, Diane Elliott of Orange, and Donna Heath and her husband John of Phillipston, with whom she lived; and many nieces and nephews.
She was born in Orange, MA on September 30, 1934, a daughter of the late Melvin and Edith (Mackay) Sweeney. She grew up in N. Orange and graduated from Orange High School in 1952.
Caroline worked at L.S. Starrett Co. for 25 years. She was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church in Athol and the Athol Golden Ages.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading and especially trips to the casino.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA 01364.
A calling hour will be prior to the funeral from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, in Athol, MA.
