It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brian M. Szoc, a smart and creative soul, on September 16, 2024.
Born in Gardner, Massachusetts, on July 21, 1946, to Michael and Anne Szoc, Brian lived a full life marked by compassion and wit. Known for his sharp mind and ingenuity, Brian had a successful career as a Land Surveyor, retiring from his own company, Szoc Surveyor's.
Outside of his career, Brian found joy in golfing, playing pool, and passionately supporting local sports teams. He also gave back to his community as a former member of the Gardner Rotary Club. Brian's life was defined not only by his accomplishments but also by the love he had for his family.
He married the love of his life, Sherry, on December 28, 1973, and nothing mattered more to him than her. Together, they built a blended family that Brian cherished.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Szoc, his son, Brian (Sonya) Szoc, his stepdaughters, Diane (Hugh) Cameron and Karen Martin, his brother, Peter (Joan) Szoc, his sister-in-law, Katherine Szoc, and his step-son, John (Kelly) Stanley. Brian also leaves behind a legacy through his step-grandsons, Hugh Jr, Brent Cameron, Dylan Strazdas, Joseph Martin, Sean Harding, Austin Stanley, and Adam Stanley, and his granddaughter, Bailey Szoc.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anne Szoc, his brother, Neil Szoc, his sister, Deborah Desmarais, his step-daughter, Robin Strazdas, and his step-grandson, Corey Strazdas.
Each person in Brian's life added a unique thread to the beautiful tapestry of his journey, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him. In memory of Brian, we encourage you to visit his memorial page at www.mackfamilyfh.com to leave your memories of him and upload any photos you have.
