Bonnie Jean Adams, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 21,2025. As fate would have it, she passed seven years to the day of losing her husband of 55 years, David R. Adams of Templeton.
Bonnie, born in Gardner, daughter of the late Charles and Garnet(Lucier) Dewey, lived most of her life and raised her family in Templeton before moving to Athol with her husband. She graduated from Narragansett Regional High School and Henri’s School of Hair Design in Fitchburg. She was a prominent stylist with Henri’s Salon and won numerous awards around the country. Her talents went far beyond her hairdressing though. She had a passion and gift for music that began as a child listening to her father sing in church. She sang as a little girl with her sisters, known as the BJD sisters for many area company parties. Then came Country music… she and David enjoyed organizing country jamboree events where she always sang with the bands. She was always a guest singer with many local musicians. Bonnie loved to teach her grandchildren about music. We all had the pleasure of hearing her sing last year at her 80th birthday party when she joined Gale Force, her favorite local band.
Over the years Bonnie endured many hours banished to the garage as to change the momentum of the Patriot games. She was a true team player!! She played pitch with the best then shared her wisdom and strategies with her grandchildren. She was the absolute “Queen” of Yahtzee! Always loved the “Sound of Music” which is now a family favorite. She and David had fond memories of times spent together with family and friends in Stowe, VT, Singer Island and at Old Orchard Beach.
She leaves her beloved daughters, Lisa Foley(RJ) of Shrewsbury, Traci Wilson(David/Gumpy) of Templeton, Terri Krieger(Brett) of Templeton, her cherished grandchildren, Ashton Pentz(Michael), Alyshia Hill, Eric Wilson(Kathryn), Samantha Wilson(Josh), Taylor Johnson(Tanner), Justin Foley(Amanda), Cara Foley(Anthony); treasured great grandchildren, Emerson, Crew, Hunter and Ayla.
She is also survived by her four sisters, Barbara West(Dennis), Beverly Comee(Glenwood), Brenda Fleming(David) and Bettie Morgan(William) as well as many much loved nieces and nephews.
The family welcomes you to join in a Celebration of Life on January 24,2026 12-4 pm at the Gardner PACC. In lieu of flowers we ask for the support of your local food pantries and/ or Toys for Tots as these were important to Bonnie.
