Blanche L. Sheffield, born on October 20, 1934, in Athol, Massachusetts, and graduated Athol High School in 1953. She was a beacon of warmth and love, infusing every room with her infectious joy and hearty laughter. We sadly bid her farewell on April 21, 2025. She was the heart and soul of our family, a gentle presence whose love wrapped around us like a warm embrace. Blanche spent 47 years with her loving husband William H. Sheffield Jr.
Blanche’s kindness knew no bounds, always putting others before herself with strength and endless patience. Blanche never forgot birthdays and always provided a home for her family to gather for holiday meals. The family cottage on Lake Pearl in Wrentham, MA, was a haven of serenity, a place where she loved to spend time with her family and many dear friends for many years.
Blanche spent many years raising her children before holding various jobs in Athol. She loved her role as a Den Mother to her sons and local scouts. She lived a brief time in Alameda, CA, while Bill was in the Navy and returned to spend their life in Athol, MA.
