Bella M. Cormier

TEMPLETON - Bella M. (Bastarache) Cormier, 83, died Thursday, February 9, 2023, at Heywood Hospital in Gardner.

She was born in St. Mary, New Brunswick, Canada on June 20, 1939, a daughter of the late Elio Bastarache and Josephine (Leger) Bastarache.

She moved to Gardner in 1960.  She was employed at Heywood Wakefield for several years as a sander.  She also worked with her husband's carpentry business.

She was a member of the Templeton Fish & Game Club, she enjoyed the outdoors, reading time spent with her grandchildren, and a simple swing on her front yard swing.

She leaves two sons, Danny Cormier of Fitchburg, John Cormier and his wife Melissa of Templeton; one daughter, Joan Storm and her husband Jeff of Oklahoma; six brothers, Joe Bastarache of Gardner, Ulyss Bastarache of Canada, Norman Bastarache of Canada, Guy Bastarache of Canada, Yvon Bastarache of Ashburnham, Paul Bastarache of Gardner; three sisters, Melina Bastarache of Canada, Maria Bastarache of Canada, Claudette Bastarache of Gardner; four grandchildren, Kyle Fontaine, Ryan Cormier, Alicia Cormier and her significant other, Zachary French, Andrew Cormier, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Alcide J. Cormier, by a son Donald Cormier; by a brother, Noel Bastarache and by a sister, Therese Gallant.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11 am in the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.  Burial will be private at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton.

A Calling Hour will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 10 - 11 am in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Bella's memory be made to The American Cancer Society - New England Division 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701
