GARDNER - Barbara Ann (Kuczka) Alexakos, 85 of Gardner, died Saturday, June 8, 2019 in the Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner. She was born in Gardner, on April 21, 1934, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and the late Veronica A. (Sylwestrzak) Kuczka. Barbara grew up in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1952. She graduated from Steven’s Business School in Gardner in 1954. She worked for American Airlines in New York City as a ticket agent for 2 years, she worked for the Gardner School District for ten years, she worked at Simplex for 9 years and then for Stop & Shop for 13 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She was a member of the Polish American Social League and the Gardner Golden Ages. She leaves one daughter, Michelle Ann Roth and her husband Michael of Highland Lakes, NJ and one son, Nicholas Peter Alexakos and his wife Wendy of Lancaster, PA; one sister, Joyce Ann Smith of Northford, CT; five grandchildren, Peter Nicholas Alexakos and his wife Je Leina of Naples, Italy; Zachary John Alexakos of Washington, DC; Nicole Alexakos of Lancaster, PA; Alexis Samantha Hornyak and her husband Jason of Sussex, NJ; Maximillian Alexander Roth of Highland Lakes, NJ; two great grandchildren, Tini Inu Alexakos of Naples, Italy; Evelyn Winter of Sussex, NJ; great nephews, Brian Smith and his wife Kellee of E. Hampton, CT & Adrian Vitale; niece, Amanda Vitale and her husband Nils of Milford, CT; great niece, Julia Smith of E. Hampton, CT; great niece, Kelsey Smith of E. Hampton, CT; and several cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter Nicholas Alexakos who passed in 1964. A Memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced.
