Anthony Albert Brighenti

Anthony Albert Brighenti, affectionately known as Tony, Dad and Pa, was born on January 21, 1945, in Athol, MA, passed away on May 15, 2025. A reliable pillar of his community, Anthony spent much of his time and energy in service to others. He was a spirited individual with a generous heart, often seen with a smile on his face, sharing a funny anecdote or two.

Raised in Athol, Anthony dedicated his life to his beloved hometown. He served as a Selectman and School Committee Member for many years. He also served as a member of The Shade Tree Commission, Memorial Building Committee, and The Vacant and Abandoned Building Committee. He also committed himself as the Founder and active member of the North Worcester County Quabbin Anglers for over 40 years. He was extremely proud of his service to our country as a Vietnam Era Veteran and was a longtime member of The Marine Corps League. Anthony loved his profession with his whole heart. He retired a decorated Environmental Police Officer for the State of Massachusetts and received The Officer Of The Year Honors. Tony was known for his love of fishing and nature and was a man full of passion and strong beliefs.

Tony's love for his family was paramount. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing trips with his friends and family, and sharing in laughter, good food and drink, and conversations at local restaurants and at his home with his loved ones. He always loved a good party!

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Reno and Natalie Brighenti, his wife Sharon(Blanchard) Brighenti , and his brother Robert Brighenti. He leaves behind his daughters, Laurie Parker and her husband Jeff Parker, his daughter Elizabeth Robinson and her partner Shane Smith, his brother Mark Brighenti and his wife Jodie Brighenti, his beloved grandchildren Sam Parker, Luke Parker and his wife Janassa Parker, Logan Parker, Andrew Robinson, and Evelyn Robinson, and his great-grandchildren Ava Mize and Eldon Parker.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at Mack Family Funeral Homes, Athol-Orange Chapel, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA, on Wednesday, 21 May 2025 from 9:00 am, followed by a funeral service at the same location at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The North Worcester County Quabbin Anglers Association at PO Box 79 Athol, MA 01331.

We encourage those who knew and loved Tony to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page. Anthony's life was filled with joy, generosity, and a love for his family and community. Let us remember him as the spirited, reliable, generous, and funny man he was.
