Ann E. (Esposito) "Annie" Chapman, 89, of Gardner, MA, passed away in Heywood Hospital, with her family by her side, on July 12th, 2025.
The daughter of the late Dominic and Josephine (Silvestri) Esposito, she was born on June 6, 1936, in Shrewsbury, MA. She graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School in 1955. On September 5, 1955, she married the love of her life, Hugh G. "Mickey" Chapman, with whom she shared nearly 70 years of marriage.
In 1973, after raising her four sons, she began a 25-year career with the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health as a vocational instructor at the ARC of Fitchburg, MA. She enjoyed teaching her clients the cafeteria trade.
During her retirement, she enjoyed going out to lunch with several ladies' groups, volunteering at The Baldwinville Nursing Home, donating her homemade crafts to local fairs, and playing cards. Annie and Mickey enjoyed several trips to Wells Beach, ME, during their entire marriage, where they were part of the Moody Cottage family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Peter Chapman (Noeme) of Silang Cavite, Philippines, William Chapman (Denise) of Gardner, MA, and Glenn Chapman of Orange, MA. five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosa Massa of Gardner, MA, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, David Chapman, by two brothers, Veto and James Esposito, and two sisters, Pauline Farmelo and Philomena Thibeault.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11 am in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA
Calling hours will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm in the Mack Family Funeral Home, Gardner Chapel, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA
