Alice J. (Shilko) Pierce, 91, formerly of 5 Raymond Place, Athol, died Friday morning in Athol Memorial Hospital. She was born in Athol February 17, 1912, daughter of the late Andrew J. and Alice (Demkowska) Shilko and lived here all of her life. Mrs. Pierce was a graduate of Athol High School and was employed with the Treasury Department of the Union Tool Co. of Orange for many years prior to her retirement in 1963. She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church in Athol. Mrs. Pierce is survived by one sister, Josephine Regis of Manchester, NH and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by one sister, Volley Hand and one brother, Joseph Shilko. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Athol, Tuesday, June 24 followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol at 11AM. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 - 10:30 AM Tuesday.
