Albina M. Kalanta

GARDNER - Albina Mary (Penney) Kalanta, 95 of Gardner died Sunday, November 15, 2020 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner. Albina was born December 29, 1924 in Vabalninko, Lithuania the daughter of the late Joseph Penney, Sr. and Constance (Lapenas) Penney. She immigrated as a child to Newfoundland, Canada and later as an adult to Gardner. She is survived by two sons, Dr. William J. Kalanta of Modesto, CA, Paul J. Kalanta and his wife Sheila of Ashburnham; one daughter Joan A. Henry of Gardner; grandchildren, Mark Amero, Brian Henry and his wife Bridget, Michael Kalanta and his wife Vanzy, Stephanie Reale and her husband Sean, Lauren Fisher and her husband Cory, and Samantha Kalanta; great grandchildren, William Kalanta, Quinn Henry and Cole Henry; a sister Elizabeth Penney of Gardner. She was predeceased by her husband William “Veto” Kalanta in 2006, by two brothers, Gid Penney and Joseph Penney Jr; by two sisters, Anne Morse and Veronica Penney, son-in-law Arthur Henry, daughters-in-law Joan Kalanta, and Angela Kalanta. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 11 am in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Green Bower Cemetery, Gardner. There are no calling hours.
