Virginia A. (Hopkins) Gough, 95 Fredericksburg, VA-Virginia A. (Hopkins) Gough, 95, formerly of Gardner peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Falls Run Health and Rehab in Fredericksburg, VA. She was born in Winchendon on February 18, 1926 a daughter of the late Roy William and Bertha Irene (Norcross) Hopkins. She worked as a Certified Nursing Aide for the former Leo P. Lachance Nursing Home for 23 years. She was highly respected and loved by the residents and staff. She also worked for Wood-Tek, J.J. Newberry’s Soda Fountain, Gem Crib and Cradle Co., and Thayer’s. Virginia loved to travel with her siblings and friends on Yankee Lines. She loved to spend time at the Ocean and Newfound Lake with her family. She was a long-time resident of Gardner. Her love for her 6 grandchildren was unmatched. She was their greatest fan, never missing a chance to attend hockey games, sporting events and school functions. Her favorite place to take them after an event was Friendly’s. Her greatest joy was spending time with her 3 Great-Granddaughters. After retiring, at the age of 80, Virginia decided to be near her granddaughter Melonie. In 2012 she moved to Virginia to be with Melonie, Mike, and the girls. She was the wife of the late William Edward Gough who died in 1974. Virginia leaves two sons, David B. Gough and his wife Linda of Phillipston; and Wayne E. Gough and his wife Linda of Gardner; one daughter, Cynthia J. Davis Farmer and her husband Kenneth of Big Lake, AK; 3 Granddaughters, Melonie Walker and her husband Michael and their 3 daughters Micaela, Mackenzie, and Makenna of Fredericksburg,VA, Lisa Davis and her daughter Abbigail of Anchorage, AK, Alyssa Johnson and her husband Tim of Lunenburg, 3 grandsons, Trent Gough and his wife Nicole of Phillipston, Erik Gough of Phillipston, Shane Gough and his wife Erika of Malden; her sister-in-law Edith Hopkins and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Roy W. Hopkins and sister, Ruth Hajdukiewicz. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at 10:00a.m.in the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Calling hours will be held from 5-7 p.m on Friday, May 7, 2021 in the funeral home.
