Rene J. Nonni

Gardner-Rene J. Nonni, 70, died Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Heywood Hospital after an illness. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Jessie K. (Binnall) Nonni; one daughter, Julie Nonni of Gardner; one granddaughter, Kaylee Saulnier of Saco, ME; one grandson, Jake Nonni of Gardner; three great-grandchildren, Alora, Aubin and Aspen Saulnier all of Saco, ME; one brother, Robert Nonni of ME and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son, John Nonni and a sister, Charlene Gallant. He was born in Gardner on May 17, 1950 a son of the late Paris and Florina (Brassard) Nonni. He attended Gardner Schools and joined the US Marine Corps in 1969. He served in the Vietnam War as a Lance Corporal. While in the Marine Corps he received a National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Campaign medal, Vietnam Service medal, Good conduct medal as well as a combat action ribbon. Rene worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over 20 years in the DCAM department. He enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting coins and working around the yard. He loved his pets and had many cats and dogs over the years. He also enjoyed trips to the casino. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of which he adored. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with military honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.
