Karene E. Davis

ATHOL - Karene Eve (Deveney) Davis, 78 of Athol, passed peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, March 14, 2021. She was born in Greenfield, on January 26, 1943, the daughter of the late Joseph Edward Deveney and the late Jacqueline Mary (McKinnon) Deveney. She grew up in Greenfield and Athol and graduated from Athol High School with the class of 1961. Karene worked as a supervisor at Digital Corporation for many years. After retiring she worked for the Fernald School in Templeton and Flowerland in Athol. She enjoyed a variety of crafts, one being painting, leaving behind memorable treasures for her family. Bingo and playing cards were another one of her favorite pastimes. She's known for creating many laughs and being the life of the party. She leaves her husband of 58 years, Jim O. Davis; two daughters, JoEllen Gallant of Barrington, NH, Shannan Beaton of Athol; two sons, Todd Davis of Pennsylvania, Thomas Davis of North Carolina; two sisters, Nancy Ares of Athol, Sandi Cowburn of Florida; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends.
