Johanna M. Sand

Gardner – Johanna Mary (Pfersich) Sand passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in the Gardner Rehab Center, Gardner, MA. She grew up in Gardner, graduating from Gardner High School in 1966. She continued her education at Mount Wachusett Community College and Burbank Hospital School of Radiology Technology. Johanna was employed by Heywood Hospital for forty-six years as a Radiology Technician, retiring in September of 2015. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Gardner and enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Johanna leaves her husband of forty-eight years, James P. Sand, son; Kenneth Sand of Gardner, daughter; Mary-Kate Sand of Fort Myers, FL, brother; James Pfersich and his wife Nancy of Gardner, and several nieces and nephews. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 1-3pm at Mack Funeral Home, Lamoureux-Smith & Poliks Chapel, 105 Central St. Gardner. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11am at Holy Spirit Church. Burial will be at a later date.
