Gloria C. Gelsomini

June 21, 1929 — March 21, 2021

TYNGSBORO - Gloria Carmella Gelsomini went to meet Our Lord on March 21, 2021 at her son John Gelsomini's residence in Tyngsboro, MA surrounded by her loving family.  Gloria was born in Gardner, MA on June 21,1929 to Florence and Thure Sundstrom.  Gloria leaves behind her husband, Frank Gelsomini, and her two children: Debbie Sargent and her husband Dan, and John Gelsomini and his wife Kimberly.  John and Kimberly were her loving caregivers for the past six months. Gloria also leaves nine grandchildren: Jackie O'Dowd and her husband Sean, and Maria, Johnny, Tina, Lisa, Michael, Joseph, Teresa and Mark Gelsomini, as well as her two great grandchildren Liam and Bree O'Dowd.  Gloria also leaves many dear friends including Shirley and the late Cleo Monette, Elaine Rodeci and the late Angelo and Bea Solinas. Gloria's deep love and devotion to her family and close friends makes her departure especially sad, but we are all very grateful for the many wonderful years we spent together. Gloria graduated from Gardner High School in 1947.  Gloria and Frank were married for over 70 years and they spent many years living in Gardner, MA.  After retirement they lived at Hampton, NH and Lake Wales, FL for six months each. They enjoyed being "snow birds".  Gloria loved to travel all over the world with Frank and often with friends.  Over the years she enjoyed skiing, tennis, golf, dancing and hosting and attending many social events.  Gloria and Frank were also in many plays and shows over the years in Gardner and in Lake Wales which they enjoyed thoroughly. Gloria started her banking career at the Gardner Trust Bank as the president's secretary.  As her career advanced she became a teller, platform manager, branch manager, and she retired as a bank officer. During her career she worked primarily at the Worcester County National Bank and the Bank of America located in the Gardner area.  She was also an active scout leader and strong supporter of the Girl Scouts and Brownies. Her dinner parties were outstanding as she was a wonderful cook, and she also enjoyed hosting social and family events especially around the holidays.  Frank has many fond memories of their wonderful life together.  Her devoted family fondly remembers her jokes, humor, kindness, hard work, and deep love. She will be sadly missed by us all. Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Mack Funeral Home 105 Central St., Gardner from 9:00 to 10:15 am.   A funeral mass will follow at the Holy Spirit Church in South Gardner at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the St. John's Cemetery in Gardner.   The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all family and friends for their love and condolences during this sad time.
