Etta May LeBlanc

GARDNER – Etta May (Gerrard) LeBlanc, 83, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 19, 2020. She was born in Gardner September 5, 1936, daughter of the late William C. Gerrard and Elaine L. (Hilchie) Gerrard. She lived the majority of her life in Gardner and spent summers on Lake Monomonac. She is predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Joseph A. “Lefty” LeBlanc and infant daughter, Deborah May. She leaves her daughters: Pamela LeBlanc of Gardner with whom she lived, and Linda (LeBlanc) Charpentier and her husband Norman of Leominster; grandchildren Deborah Charpentier and John Charpentier and his wife Caroline. She leaves a son-like nephew Roger and his wife Sheri of Arizona and the late Daniel “OB” LeBlanc. She leaves 2 sisters Peggy Gallant, Mary (Blunden) Labor and her husband Barry, and a brother John Gerrard and predeceased by siblings Charles Gerrard, Ruth LeBlanc, Gloria (Pratt) Arsenault, and Laura (Hamel) Lones. She leaves many nieces and nephews. Etta was a kind-hearted person with a great sense of humor, who loved to laugh, joke, and have a good time. She was generous in many ways: opening up her house for family to stay, July 4th parties at the camp, and weekend get togethers. She was a good listener, had a strong faith, and loved to give hugs. She was devoted to her husband Lefty, who had ALS and took care of him until his death in 1989. She was in Girl Scouts, Rainbow girls, Past Matron of Jessamine Chapter and a member of the First Congregational Church of Westminster serving in various capacities. Private burial will be at Wildwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Etta’s name to Memorial Fund of the First Congregational Church 138 Main St PO Box 477 Westminster, MA 01473 or the Lefty LeBlanc Scholarship c/o Pamela LeBlanc, 196 Lovewell Street Gardner, MA 01440.
