Estelle L. Grenier

August 27, 1934 — January 9, 2021

MARLBORO – The Sisters of the Assumption mourn the loss of St. Estelle L. Grenier, formerly known as St. Estelle-du-Sacre Coeur, who died peacefully at Alliance Health at Marie Esther on Saturday, January 9, 2021. She was a native of Salem, Massachusetts, the daughter of Eva (Gauthier) Grenier and Ronaldo Grenier. St. Estelle entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin on August 21, 1952. Following her profession on August 15, 1960, she served in the ministry of education as a primary grade teacher in Brockton, Southbridge, Millbury and Lowell Massachusetts. She served as Principal and Superior in Indian Orchard, Dracut and Petersham, MA. From 1984 to 1997 she served as a Pastoral Minister at St. Jean-Baptiste Parish in Lynn, MA. She spent many years supporting the Associates of her Congregation. St. Estelle was a wonderful, friendly and prayerful person who could enliven any group with whom she met. She performed many community services. Sr. Estelle spent her last years at Marie Esther Health Center where she received loving and professional care. Four brothers: Ronald, George, Peter and Edmond as well as the Sisters of the Assumption survive Sr. Estelle. Her sister Lucille (Grenier) Albert and her brother Raymond predeceased her. She will lay to rest in East Street Cemetery, Petersham, MA on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
