Chester E. Pultorak

Orange- Chester Pultorak, 90, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH. He was born in Gardner, MA on July 18, 1927 to Michael and Frances (Zugalenska) Pultorak. He lived in Gardner most of his life and moved to Orange, MA in 2004. Chester loved to garden and worked in it the week before his death. He also loved to fish and fished at several locations in Canada and here in Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine with his fishing buddies. He also liked to visit friends and have coffee in the morning with them at the Hen House in Gardner. He very much liked visiting Maine’s coast. Chester was a patriot and served in World War II at the age of 17. He joined the United States Navy and served on the destroyers the USS Benner and the USS Mansfield. He saw action on the coast of Japan and Tokyo Bay. He was a member of the Gardner VFW. After the war, he graduated from Worcester Junior College. He worked for some time at the then, Western Union. He started his Real Estate Company in 1960 and retired from there. Chester leaves his wife Priscilla (Blyther), with whom he celebrated their 60th Anniversary this past April. He also leaves three sons, Michael R. Pultorak and his wife Sandra, Thomas B. Pultorak, and Craig A. Pultorak. He leaves 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Carrie L. (Pultorak) LeVierge and son, Terrence E. Pultorak. He also leaves a sister, Virginia Campbell of Baldwinville and a sister-in-law, Barbara Blyther of Hubbardston as well as many nieces and nephews. Chet loved his family and enjoyed many outings with them. He left this life stating that he loved his family and that life had been good to him. There are no Calling Hours and burial will be kept private. Family and Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 5-7pm at the Gardner VFW 176 West St. Gardner, MA. Mack Family Funeral Home – Higgins O’Connor Chapel, 146 Main St. Athol is assisting the family with arrangements.
