Charles J "Chuck" Winn

Athol – Charles J. “Chuck” Winn of Athol passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 after an illness. He was born in Boston in 1942 to the late Garland B. Winn and the late Josephine (Cardiff) Winn. He attended Stoneham High School and Boston University. He moved to Athol in 1973 where he became a partner at Kimball-Cooke Insurance Agency. He was a licensed Insurance Advisor and Business Consultant. Chuck was involved in the community and belonged to several clubs, including, the Exchange Club, where he was past president. He was president of the Chamber of Commerce and in 1987 named Citizen of the Year. He enjoyed being involved in local theater as an actor and producer. He left Kimball-Cooke in 1996 and after a brief retirement, went to work for MIIA and Cabot Risk Strategies for 14 years, retiring in August of 2016. He loved sports, especially football and hockey. He enjoyed movies, theater, music and dining out. He loved animals and nature. He leaves one daughter; Lisa Winn of Gardner; son, David Winn of Jacksonville, FL; stepchildren, John Casavecchia and his wife Diane of Riverside, RI, Paula Amadon and her husband Scott of Royalston, Duane Casavecchia and his wife Laurie of Athol, Amanda Barry and her husband Mark of South Dennis. He was predeceased by his first wife Linda in 1994 and his wife Helen in 2016. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
