Marilyn Louise Sadowski

December 1, 1953 — November 27, 2017

Marilyn L. (Aher) Sadowski, 63, passed away on November 27, 2017 at Heywood Hospital in Gardner after her brave battle with breast cancer. Marilyn was born in Gardner and graduated from Gardner High School in 1971, where she met Bobby Sadowski. The two married in November 1983. She graduated from Lasell College where she was active in the drama club and rowing team. From her childhood until her passing, she entertained those around her with her witty humor and beautiful voice. Marilyn was a proud member of Harmony Inc. for over 35 years and was always singing. Marilyn worked for the Gardner Public Schools and cherished the relationships with fellow staff and students. Following her retirement, she enjoyed working at Wachusett Mountain, where she had previously been a ski instructor during her college years. Left to honor and remember her love and strength are her daughters, whom Marilyn always showed unconditional love for, Amanda Sadowski of Chicago, Il and Kimberley Sadowski of Milford, CT; Son-in-law, Jesse Krist; Sister, Susan Walliser of Blossom, TX; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Greg and Sandy Sadowski, of Wilmington, MA; Sister- in-law Christine Sadowski, of Gardner, MA; nephew and niece, Michael and Hannah Sadowski and numerous aunts, cousins and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, John and Edith Aher, husband Bobby, and brothers-in-law, Thomas Sadowski and Roy Walliser. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St, Gardner, MA. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours will be held prior to the Mass from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at Lamoreux-Smith & Poliks, a Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St. Gardner. The family will greet friends following the service at Elks Lodge at 31 Park St, Gardner, MA following Mass. The Sadowski family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, especially Marilyn’s favorite nurses, Faith and Debbie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marilyn’s name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or The Marilyn Sadowski Memorial Fund, GFA Credit Union, PO Box 468, Gardner, MA.
