Marguerite "Peggy" McIntire

TEMPLETON - Marguerite “Peggy” (Furber) McIntire, 69 of 43 Otter River Rd., Templeton, died Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in the UMass Memorial Medical Center -Worcester, MA following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in South Boston, MA, on November 9, 1946, the daughter of the late Harry and the late Margaret (Boyle) Furber. Peggy worked as a custodian at Oakmont Regional School District for many years before retiring in 2004. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. "Nana" always made time for her Grandchildren. Peggy enjoyed spending time on her & her late husband Bob's boat that had been docked in Salem, MA. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her, including her dog Lou Lou. She leaves two daughters: Shannon Nugent and her husband, Michael of Baldwinville, and Christine Batson of Gardner; one son: Scott Batson and his companion, Jessica Sanders of Livermore, CA; one sister: Ann Clancy of South Boston; six grandchildren: Max, Alex, and Alexis Batson of CA; Shayne Arsenault of Templeton; Ryan and Gavin Nugent of Baldwinville; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Robert S. McIntire in 2007; two sisters: Maureen Kozlowski and Eleanor MacNeil. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 11am at Holy Rosary Parish, 135 Nichols Street Gardner, MA Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 18th from 4:00pm to 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
