Joanne L. (Bredenberg) Munson

GRAPEVINE TX - Joanne L. (Bredenberg) Munson, 86 of 4545 Merlot Ave., Grapevine, TX, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Meadowood Assisted Living. She was born in Grand Island, NE. on June 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Leonard and Genevieve (Freeman) Bredenberg. Jody grew up in Harlan, Iowa and graduated from Harlan High School. She attended the University of Nebraska where she met her husband Dr. H. Pierce Munson. They were married on June 25, 1950 and moved to Gardner. Jody worked as a secretary at the Munson dental practice in Gardner for many years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she was a member of the church choir, and served on the Altar Guild. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, knitting and spending time with her family at Queen Lake. She lived on Jackson Park in Gardner for over 50 years and in Templeton for several years before moving to Broadview Assisted Living in Winchendon, and then moved to Grapevine, Texas to be near her son Jim and his family. She leaves three sons, William Munson and his wife Sue of Franklin, TN; James Munson and his wife Lesli of Grapevine, TX; Thomas Munson and his wife Maureen of Enfield, CT; seven grandchildren, Kelly Munson, Alexander Munson, Madison Munson, Nathaniel Munson, Andrew Munson, Chloe Munson, Sofie Munson, and one great granddaughter, Lexi Munson. Jody was predeceased by her husband Dr. H. Pierce Munson who died in 1995. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Cross St in Gardner, Friday March 24th at 1pm. Burial will follow in Green Bower Cemetery. Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, March 24th from 11am-12:30 pm, at Lamoreux - Fletcher & Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St, Gardner.
