JoAnn F. Shepardson

WARWICK - JoAnn F. Shepardson, age 73, died Thursday, February 16, 2017 at UMass Memorial Medical Center. JoAnn was born January 8, 1944 in Athol. She is the daughter of the late Anthony F. and the late Dorothy (Bishop) Shatos. She grew up in Orange and moved to Rhode Island, moving back to the Athol/Orange area 51 years ago. She was employed as a waitress, a mail carrier, and worked for the Paint Shop in Orange and also Sandy's Coffee Shop. JoAnn enjoyed horses as a child and continued riding throughout her life and riding in Jim Canna's competitions. She also enjoyed water skiing, basketball, bowling, where she was known to bowl a perfect game, and her Rottweilers. She is survived by her husband of 53 years: Arthur Shepardson Sr., one son: Arthur Shepardson, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Athol and their son Matthew Shepardson; and one daughter: Nicole Jack of Warwick and her sons Corey Jack and John Desmarais and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her Brother, Henry P. Shatos. A graveside service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
