Daniel J. Schecker

FITCHBURG - Daniel J. Schecker, 49, of Fitchburg died Monday, October 31, 2016 at Health Alliance Hospital - Leominster Hospital. He was born April 6, 1967 in Massapequa, NY, the son of Frank Schecker and the late Veronica Scully. Dan grew up in Brentwood, NY and graduated from Brentwood Ross High School, he also went to Leominster High School where he received his journeyman license in plumbing. He moved to Massachusetts in 1990 and attended Bay Path Technical School receiving a degree in HVAC repair and maintenance. He worked for the Darcy Company in Holyoke and went on to own and operate his own company, K&D Mechanical Systems specializing in commercial, industrial and residential HVAC. He played ice hockey and lacrosse and enjoyed a good Cuban cigar. He was an avid UFC fan traveling to many of the events. He leaves two daughters; Marissa Schecker, Kelsey Schecker both of Gardner; two step-sons, Bruce Moschetti II of Medford, William Vance of Barre; his father, Frank Schecker of Pennsylvania; one brother, Thomas Schecker of New York; two sisters, Nancy Schecker of California, Theresa Romano of Texas; his former wife, Annette Legault of Gardner; two grandchildren, Avery and Jade and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Lamoureux-Fletcher & Smith Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours will be Monday, November 7, 2016 from 9 - 11a.m. at the funeral home.
